Warming up with Tai Chi |
|
Circle: | - |
Say your name
/ or the name you would like to be called (say it loud and proud). |
|
- | Say something about your
thinking, behaviour, or attitude, that you want to change. |
||
- | Boal uses a term: "cops in the head"
Exercise "Stand up and say something about your life which is true for yourself": |
- | If their truth is your truth, you stand up as well and make eye contact with the ones who are standing.
- | It does not have to be
exactly the same, you just have to relate to it. |
||
- | Be aware: it needs to be in silence to honour it.
Comments on this exercise: | - |
Never underestimate
what the person is saying. |
|
- | Sometimes in
a circle a person only wants to say / share happy things. This may stop
others in telling their story. |
||
- | Every story
is important! |
||
- | People often
laugh if it is in general funny, if they recognise something or they are
being nervous. |
||
- | Be careful
not being judgmental in your body language or in other ways. |
||
- | This is a part
of Theatre of the Oppressed. |
||
- | Use your intuition
to decide whether the group you are working with is ready for this exercise. |
||
- | It must be
a group with big responsibility. A group of young people can become competitive.
|
||
- | Remember to
warn 2 minutes before ending this exercise. This can help people to get
things said |
||
- | Facilitator:
"I can teach you the skills, the rest is up to you". |
||
Comments on the game "Fruitsalad": | -
- |
It can be
done with or without a theme. For instance drugs. You can as a facilitator use a bowl with notes about this subject. Write them yourself. In that way you can say, that if anyone has difficulties reading your handwriting, they may ask you. |
